LD

In case you were wondering, the past week or two of my life has consisted of:
Bible study in Acts--sweetness
Planning a men's weekend retreat, content and all (June 23-24)
Prepping for a workshop on Scripture, specifically on Bible study (June 29)
Brainstorming for a message on Power Through Prayer (July 2)
Prepping to go to Mexico (July 8-17)
Bonhoeffer's Ethics, Pascal's Pensees, and C.S. Lewis' Letters to Malcolm
A little something called "Swashbuckler"
Enforcing the rules--I am the Hammer
A whole bunch of other random jobs/projects/conversations
Wrestling with God through a couple of different situations

All in all it has been an encouraging, enriching summer, and I fail to see how it could not continue as such.

Canes

In response to a recent comment, here's a little story for y'all.
I wasn't able to follow the whole thing, but tropical storm (read: not hurricane) Alberto danced his way around the Gulf of Mexico, made landfall somewhere around the Tallahasee area, and headed north through Georgia and South Carolina. We got an inch or two of rain on Monday/Tuesday and a little bit of wind but that was about it. I'm pretty sure he got downgraded to a tropical depression but I don't know where. Only one word comes to mind:
disappointment. Maybe Beryl will come closer.
Is it just me or is that something off the periodic table and not a woman's name?

Whether

I would just like to share something with all y'all, especially those in Lincoln.

I've been keeping an eye on the weather thingy on my google home page. I've got both Lincoln and Jacksonville keyed in. And on each of the past four days (the forecast for the next two as well) the high temperature for the days has been (and is predicted to be) LOWER in Jacksonville than in Lincoln. It makes me....makes me wanna sing.

But I really can't do that in this medium. Sorry.

Please, no sarcastic remarks regarding my poor singing ability.
