A 38 special snubbie is always a good choice for concealed carry. When jacketed hollow points are used, they can have the same "knock down" power as, let's say, a .45 ACP but in a much more compact package. However, you do sacrifice magazine capacity, but usually no more than 2 or 3 shots are needed to diffuse a potential "confrontation".
